Before vs after

Drag the handle. Left: what visitors find today. Right: a first screen that answers whether the door is open.

Independent concept. Created from public information to demonstrate an idea. Not commissioned or approved by the business shown.

The Dundrum Inn's current homepage: the GuestDiary site opening on a silent video of a Dundrum signpost, under a two-row menu and a Select language dropdown, with a Book your stay card across the lower right
Mourne Made concept in the Inn's plum and cream: the 1834 crest wordmark and a Come for the views, stay for the craic headline over a full-width visualisation of the Inn's yellow-and-black frontage, labelled on the image as AI-generated, with English and Gaeilge offered where the translation dropdown was

A still can't show the hero, the menus or how fast you reach the main action. These are ten-second visits to each version, captured the same way.

The reasoning, in order

Three changes to answer the question people arrive with.

  • The inn publishes opening hours for all seven days, but they sit far below a translation bar and a video — hard to find before a visit.

Change: A status line at the top that works out open or closed from the inn's own published hours, next to the event currently listed and the bay across the road.

  • A translation widget for twenty-eight-plus languages is among the most prominent controls. Irish is already in that list — buried among the rest.

Change: Irish beside English instead of the translation bar, freeing the space for a booking action.

  • The inn already runs GuestDiary with availability, room types and the cottage. The gap is how far you scroll before you reach it.

Change: The same date, adults and children fields on the first screen, handing to GuestDiary so live availability stays.

Sources & limits

Clear about what is real.

Captured from the public Dundrum Inn website on 24 July 2026, with published detail re-checked on 26 July. Come for the views, stay for the craic, the 190 years, winter hours, named rooms, Murlough Cottage, the Fleadh Cheoil listing and GuestDiary all come from that site.

The hero is a disclosed AI visualisation based on the inn's own exterior photograph — not a documentary shot. Open or closed is worked out from published bar hours; the site has no full food-service schedule, so none is invented. The concept corrects one listing error: the phone shown is the inn's own 028 4372 9933.

This was not commissioned or approved by The Dundrum Inn. It is a free website idea: answer today on the first screen.
