Put the garage back at its own address.

Before vs after

Drag the handle. The left stands in for what a customer currently finds — douglasandcromie.co.uk does not resolve, so there is no page to capture; the right shows the proposed first screen.

See it in motion

A still can't show the hero, the menus or how fast you reach the main action. These are ten-second visits to each version, captured the same way.

Before
A muted card standing in for douglasandcromie.co.uk, which does not resolve — the domain returns no page at all

Douglas & Cromie's domain does not resolve at all — typing douglasandcromie.co.uk returns no page. Search engines still show a cached title, so the dealer appears to have a website and has none. There is no live site to demo; the panel on the left is a muted stand-in for a domain that answers nothing.

After

The reasoning, in order

Three changes that put the garage back on the map.

  • Their old address still appears in search with a cached title. Follow it and nothing loads — apex or www.

Change: A working page at an address they control, so people already looking for them land somewhere useful.

  • Their January 2024 homepage had a clear wordmark, colours, photography and a straightforward offer.

Change: Bring that identity back as the front door, instead of leaving it stranded in an archive.

  • Someone ready to call or visit should not have to dig. The next step belongs on the first screen.

Change: Put call, hours, directions and workshop services where they can be acted on immediately.

Sources & limits

Clear about what is real.

In July 2026 their domain did not resolve, so the before panel is a stand-in — there was no live page to capture.

The website idea uses identity and wording from their January 2024 public homepage (via the Internet Archive). Used Cars NI still lists the garage at Bryansford, which is how we know they are trading.

This was not commissioned or approved by Douglas & Cromie.
